Is the Electoral College Compact a stalking horse for national dis-unification?

A cold Civil War

Old hawtness circa 1861: blue states and grey states

New hawtnes circa 2019: blue states and red states.

The shrieking over the election of Donald Trump has propelled the Democrats to set out to abolish of the Electoral College.

By circumventing the current system through the creation of a “compact of states” with a combined EC vote total of 270 (or more) said compact (conspiracy) would insure that the winner of the national popular vote would gain the electoral votes needed to capture the White House.

What would be seen as a Crazy Idea in normal times is already gaining traction in these Crazy Times.

Last week Colorado became the eleventh state to join the compact, thereby effectively disenfranchising the Centennial State’s voters and sublimating them to the whims of the citizenry of Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City.

But is there more going on with the popular vote compact that meets the eye? Is it possible that the real stealth issue is not so much the perversion of the Electoral College system but an insidious  attempt to force the United State to the brink of disunification?

Once states with enough votes to total 270 sign on it’s “game over” for the states with the other 268.

Their votes become chump change and what incentive do the citizens of those now disenfranchised states have to stay part of a nation in which they are forever classified as expendable second class citizens?

Taxation with sham representation does not seem like a winning long term game plan for such a country.

I have long thought that Barack Obama wanted to be the American Gorbachev and go down in history as the man who presided over the break-up of the USA just as Gorby did with the USSR.

I think he (and George Soros and his ilk) would still like a hand in that endeavor and would welcome the establishment of the Electoral College Compact if it meant cutting America “down to size” by formally Balkanizing the union.

Crazy Talk, for sure.

Crazy Talk for Crazy Days…

Aptly described as both "hilarious and deeply disturbed" Strozek has enthusiastically embraced the recommendation of the late Raoul Duke that "when the going gets weird the weird turn pro."

Although he has fallen far short of his bucket-list goal of writing for such respectable rags as The National Enquirer and The Weekly World News Strozek is grateful for the opportunity to pen his unhinged screeds at Sparta Report and is constantly amazed and delighted at the reception his pieces receive in the cements.
